We didn't get to color our eggs until the day before, but Gabriella enjoyed adding some crayon, dyeing and then adding metallic foil accents.

Easter morning Gabriella was excited to see a Little Mermaid toy and some new markers plus a super cute little chocolate baby bunny from Amanda's Own Confections. They make nut/dairy/egg/gluten free chocolate.

For the Easter service at church I facilitated the K-3rd kid's gathering. They were a pretty excited group. We did some guided sharing time, an object lesson similar to this one and made some books about the Easter narrative. I did get a few laughs (along with a bit of shock and horror) as I looked at some sunday school curriculum online and in traditional curriculum books. I can tell you that we most certainly DID NOT play the game "unhang man" or the competitive game called "in and out of the tomb."
After church, Kaycieann and Travis came over to enjoy an "Iowa meal." What makes it an Iowa meal? Well, it involves a lot of meat. Jonathan prepared a mouthwatering roast along with masked potatos, gravy, corn, broccoli and cauliflower. This was our traditional Sunday meal growing up and it is what I ask Dad to make when we visit home. Travis has decided that he just might have to give Iowa a visit...
When lunch was finished we hastily hid some eggs for the girls to find. The eggs contained a few jellybeans and some bunny fruit snacks (handy that Annie's organic fruit snacks happen to be bunny shaped and also that my kids think fruit snacks are candy. Ok, so fruit snacks ARE candy.) Juliana caught on pretty quickly that this egg business was exciting stuff.
UPDATE: I forgot to mention that Juliana did her own accessorizing for the egg hunt. The matching headband was ditched in favor of the lovely purple boa.

The closest thing I have to a sibling picture... (I think this was just supposed to be of Juliana and Gabriella jumped in.)

...and then Juliana was quite firmly done with pictures and both over-sugared children went down for a nap.

You mean that Juliana didn't just get fruity Cherio's????
Well you know, the first child gets cheerios in their first Easter eggs, the second gets fruit snacks and the third gets pop rocks and jolt soda. That is why we are so hesitant to add a third.
I do love the tulip dress! Juliana looks so grown up in it though. Gabriella has your pink cheeks! They both look like they had incredible fun. You can see the joy in their eyes! I wish I could have been there to give them smooches and hugs!
How much longer until Lindsay has her baby? I'm sure they will adore having a baby cousin!

Aunt Lindsay is due in 3 days. We're certainly excited to hear that baby Ethan has arrived!
