Mothers Day Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend.

Saturday was the seminary masters class retreat. It was held at a conference center/camp in Canby. Overall, it was a great family day…. not to mention, completely free :) The best part was that we had a chance to connect a few different people that we haven’t seen much of this year. We arrived for lunch and then after lunch they had a door prize drawing. We won a $50 Borders gift card, which was pretty exciting to bibliophiles like us. Jonathan spent a good portion of the afternoon in a bocce ball tournament and I got to hang out and have a little adult conversation while Gabriella played with the other kids. Juliana pretty much stayed sound asleep in the sling. I spent a good portion of the day with Lupe, her daughter Bella who is three and her new baby boy Samuel who is 7 weeks. Her husband Jodie was off completely kicking my husbands bum in bocce ball. Gabriella and Bella were quite the cute pair in matching bright pink walking around everywhere holding hands. By the time supper was finished Gabriella was wiped out so we headed home before the fireside vespers.

Isn't Bella beautiful? (pictures of her are posted with permission of course.)

My Mothers Day was equally nice. Jonathan got my sewing machine repaired/serviced for my Mothers Day present. He actually snuck the machine out of the house without me knowing. Jonathan isn’t much for pulling off a surprise so he did very well. My machine has been on the outs for almost two years so I’m glad to have it back! Sunday night we went to John & Cassie’s home for a barbeque. The weather looked a bit ominous so we ended up inside, but still had a great night. Lupe & Jodie came so Gabriella was thrilled to be reunited with Bella and Ali (John and Cassie’s five year old.) It was a fun group to chat with. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
