Seaside

We had a lovely visit/beach vacation with Jonathan's parents last week. Our arrangements were made in advance, but we happened to plan our little trip on a weekend that hit 103 degrees in Portland. Portland doesn't see those temps often and most people don't have air conditioning. The coast stays cool, so it was busy! The weather Saturday was great as far as Oregon coastal weather goes. I had never been to the coast on a day where you could hang out comfortably in short sleeves and shorts. Anyhow, it was a fun little getaway and then we were able to spend some more time with "Grandma and Grandpa" in Portland. Gabriella got a very cute child sized table and chair set plus a child sized living room chair from Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday. It is quite possible we were all spoiled a bit!

I would love to post a zillion pictures of all the funness, but this week I'm working loooong hours. Not with children, but in parking lots. Our organization works the LPGA Safeway Classic lots (and by parking lots I mean giant grassy fields with hundreds and hundreds of cars) as a fundraiser. It brings in good money for our clubs, but I'll be quite glad when it is over tomorrow. Right now I'm sporting quite the lovely sunburn and I'm hoping not to add to it today.

Grandma and Grandpa Whisler are here!

Jonathan's parents flew in later Wednesday night. After I got off from work yesterday we grabbed a bite to eat at Chili's, but we made sure not to take Gabriella to their scary restroom. Then we headed to Target because Grandma and Grandpa wanted to get Gabriella a special present for being a big girl that is potty trained. She still uses a diaper for night and sometimes for nap, but other than that we've made it almost a week with no accidents. Anyhow, Gabriella picked out a baby Cinderella doll that crawls and some dress up shoes. Gabriella is pretty enamored with baby Cinderella, but she isn't the only one. Juliana thought that the crawling laughing doll was the neatest thing she had ever seen.

After I get off work today we head to the coast for a couple days! It should be a fun time with Jonathan's parents. It is HOT here right now and the coast is usually 10-20ish degrees cooler... This weekend it is supposed to be 80 at the coast and I'm super excited to actually be there in warm weather. Even when we've gone in summer it has been pretty cool.

Downtown

We hit up downtown P-town with Aunt Amy last Sunday.

Fun at the Fountain...

Aunt A & Jules on the river front...

The rest are from Amy's camera.

Taken by me...

Lets see... who does Gabriella take after?

The newest fan of Powell's Books in the Whisler family. Juliana was sooo enthralled by this book. She just had to have it and it still entertains her for long periods of time. $6 well spent.

Very Important Guests

Blogging is going to fall rather low on my priority list as we get ready to move (more on that once a few details work out,) but I did want to share a few pictures and highlights from my Dad and Barb's visit to Portland last weekend.

Gabriella was sooooo excited to have Grandma and Grandpa come out to see her and as if having all sorts of attention lavished upon our little limelight seeker wasn't enough... Grandma brought her a ballerina Barbie.

Dad and Barb on Rocky Butte (Mount St. Helens is peaking over my Dad's shoulder)

We even made it out to the coast, although it was a bit chilly for Dad's tastes. Gabriella didn't seem to mind.

Grandma got suckered into a carosel ride. It was Gabriella's first time on a carosel and she decided to play it safe and stick with the bench

Juliana got her fair share of the Grandma/Grandpa attention. I love this picture. It wasn't posed at all... I was just lucky enough to catch a sweet moment while Juliana was hanging out on the couch with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa's hand is on her head and Grandma's hand is on her chest.

We did a bit of swimming at Dad and Barb's hotel. Juliana got to try out her super cute fishy suit for the first time.

This might be one of my favorite pictures ever.

I'll be putting a zillion more pictures up on shutterfly
